FINANCE TRANSFORMATION

Manufacturing company

The project team supported the client in identifying the optimal organisational structure for the finance team in support of their overall vision, and informed by industry leading practises and benchmarks. The recommendation was to move from a decentralized  model to an integrated global finance model. Project scope included organization structure, people, location, technology, office space, communications and change management, and project management. An assessment of the impact (financial and non-financial) of the proposed changes was provided, along with a roll-out plan for implementation. The future state was adopted by the client and received positive feedback from throughout the organisation.

PLANNING AND REPORTING SYSTEM SELECTION AND IMPLEMENTATION

Manufacturing company

The client was experiencing issues with its planning and reporting system resulting in inefficient use of resources and a lack of trust in the data. The project team prepared a business case outlining the case for change and gained approval to conduct a project to select and implement a new system. Scope included requirements gathering, vendor demonstrations, system selection, designing the new planning model, setting-up processes, conducted testing, system cut-over, and user training.

CHART OF ACCOUNTS (COA) REDESIGN

Public sector

The client was experiencing issues with its COA due to inconsistent maintenance, a lack of training and a lack of alignment with the longer term needs of the organization. The project team provided an assessment of how the COA and related processes aligned with leading practices and how the client can meet its financial reporting and information needs, now and in the future. The outcome of this assessment included options and recommendations for the redesign of the chart of accounts structure, and a roadmap for implementation.

FINANCIAL SYSTEMS STRATEGY

Financial institution

The client’s financial systems were not set-up in a way that allowed them to operate efficiently and effectively both now and in the future. We recommended a future state financial system architecture, based on our understanding of the pain points associated with the existing set-up, and the future requirements of the organization. Through collecting system requirements, conducting vendor demonstrations and evaluations the project team was able to recommend a solution and a roadmap for implementation, which was adopted by the client.

STRATEGIC PLANNING

Not-for-profit

The project team developed a strategic plan for a not-for-profit to address the challenges of a growing cost base, changes to the funding model and the evolving needs for the services provided. Based on leading practices in strategy development, and using the Strategic Choice Cascade Framework, we identified the goals and aspirations of the organization, how they will achieve these goals and the capabilities needed to do this.
